Western Saddle Fitting Evaluations at Equine Unbound
As a bodyworker, I’ve seen how an ill-fitting saddle can create pain, limit performance, and even lead to long-term damage. Saddle fitting is about so much more than rider comfort—it’s about protecting your horse’s body and supporting them to move freely, comfortably, and at their best. That’s why I chose to pursue this advanced training.
As a Certified Equine Ergonomist (CEE) trained through Saddlefit 4 Life®, I evaluate saddle fit for both horse and rider through the lens of anatomy and biomechanics. This training is non-brand-specific and commission-free, which means my only focus is providing you with unbiased recommendations tailored to your horse’s individual needs.
Each 2-hour evaluation includes*:
Inspection of your current saddle’s condition
Horse measurements and gait evaluation
Chalk mapping of your horse’s back to outline the optimal saddle support area
Static saddle-to-horse fit assessment
Ridden evaluation of the horse-saddle-rider combination
Estride Harmony G5 Pressure Mat Analysis — a high-resolution mat with 900 sensors that captures real-time pressure distribution and rider balance at all gaits, providing objective data to identify pressure points and optimize saddle fit.
A well-fitting saddle is one of the most impactful ways we can protect our horses’ long-term soundness. If you’re ready to take a closer look at your fit, I’m here to help.
*At this time, all saddle fitting services are available only as haul in appointments to Equine Unbound’s facility in Cleburne, TX.
